Interview Season

And so, the season of remote jobs comes to an end. I, for one, am glad to be able to get back into a physical workspace or office and not need to take work home anymore.

I had my first interview today for a new job, and I will admit, my interview skills definitely have accrued a decent amount of rust. It took me about 10 minutes during the interview to get my nerves down before I actually could give proper answers to the questions being asked. The interviewer was very relaxed and made this very easy for me.

To be honest, I was severely overdressed for the interview. I put on an entire suit and tie (yes, I even wore my fancy shoes), and the interviewer was wearing a hoodie. The interview was over zoom, so I was unsure how dressed up to be, but clearly, I overshot.

I won’t hear back for a couple of weeks if I got the position, but it was still a good interview since it got my interviewee gears grinding, and hopefully, next time, the rust will be all cleaned out.
